There are many ways to modify a Doh-me. As more art materials and ideas are used the information will be posted here.

It is recommended to wash the Doh-me with soap and water before drawing/painting/etc on the Doh-me surface. For different results, priming the surface is also an option.

When finished with the Doh-me after applying various art materials, it is recommended to apply a sealer to the Doh-me for durability and protection of the surface. Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer spray works well for normal wear.

Tested materials that work well with Doh-me are:

  • Acrylic Paint
  • Super Sculpey
  • Colored Pencil (Wax and Oil based)
  • Marker
  • Oil Pastel
  • Pen

Using Super Sculpey

Super Sculpey is a polymer clay that can be baked/cured in an oven. It can be molded to the Doh-me however sometimes this requires a little effort. Once the Super Sculpey has be sculpted onto a Doh-me bake it in an oven at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. The baked bond with the Super Sculpey and the Doh-me will be good but it is not nearly as strong as the Doh-me itself. Taking the parts off of the Doh-me and attaching them with super glue will give the strongest bond, however it is not necessary. After the Super Sculpey baked Doh-me has cooled it can be painted like regular Doh-me’s. Please note an oven thermometer is recommended to make sure that the temperature of the oven is accurate for baking.
